Monument Valley Tour
The Grand Canyon is a work of nature but Monument Valley is a work of God !
These shots were taken while on a 3 hour tour (no, not on the "Minnow"), into Monument Valley. We had a Navajo driver/guide who provided interesting facts about the valley, it's history and bits of Navajo minutia. The trip was VERY bumpy at times which made my decision to sit on the last row of the truck not a good one. We were jolted and jostled around more than any of the rows more forward, at time being tossed a couple of feet in the air. This left us with backaches for quite some time. However, I take some solstice in getting pictures from angles not possible had I been in the center seats. Regrettably, some of the pics came out fuzzy, even taken at 1/250th of a second shutter speed! This tour was amazing in that we got to get up close to the red rocks and go into the park further than private vehicles were allowed to go. This put the rock formations in perspective, comparing their size to us. I would not trade this tour for anything.
